How do the profile modes work on the R.A.T. PRO X?
Posted by on 01 October 2015 07:18 AM

On the R.A.T. PRO X you have 10 memory slots available.

9 of these are for storing profiles on the mouse, meaning any profile you upload to those slots will work on any PC, whether you have the software installed or not.

The tenth slot is the Automatic profile and this is used by the software to make the default profile function as well as any profiles that have been linked to a program but are not loaded on to the mouse.

The default profile, whether this is the actual Mad Catz Default profile or another profile that you have created and designated as being the default profile, is loaded into the Automatic profile slot whenever you are running any application (or just using Windows) that is not linked to a profile.

  • If you link a profile to load when a particular game or program starts then the software will first check to see if that profile is in one of the slots on the mouse.
  • If it is then it will change to that slot so that the profile is active.
  • If it is not in one of the slots on the mouse then it will change to the 'A' slot and load the profile into that slot

This means that by default the mouse should nearly always be running in the 'A' profile mode whenever it is used on a PC that has the software installed.
